The Craziest Pancakes in town!

You could go to a million pancake houses in any-town USA and not find a one that will serve you my daughter's build-your-own pancake creation she ordered this morning.

My friend from school was in town and meeting us for breakfast. We agreed on The Original, I had never been, but I'd heard all good things. It was a great place for a relaxed catch up breakfast with an old friend, one chatty kid, one funny big kid and The Husband. I ordered safe and boring, but it was a good omelet. The Husband and my friend both ordered the biscuits and gravy. My boy had an awesome giant kid's pancake with fruit loops inside. The girl decided to take a walk on the wild side with her order!

First I should explain that my girl likes to create interesting food taste combinations - I credit her exposure to Voodoo Donuts at a young age. If you catch her at lunch hour in school, you are sure to find a Little Miss Original! One of her favorites, homemade sandwich rolls with Nutella, crumbled Cheeze-Its, and Oreos on top. So when she told us what she was about to order, I didn't bat an eye, just said, "cool!" The waitress checked and double checked when she heard her - just to make sure she wasn't hearing this incorrectly.

So here it is folks, my girl's order: one stack of mac n' cheese pancakes with Oreo Cookies on top.
Can I tell you here, I'm a proud mom? The girl has creativity oozing out of her from every which way.

After the food had been at the table for several minutes, the server came by to check how everything was. This is when we learned that the kitchen was very interested to hear how The Girl was enjoying her mac n' cheese Oreo pancakes. They thought surely our waitress had made a mistake while entering this order. We're half sure they will try it for themselves now - just to see. With a smile my girl assured the waitress, these pancakes were very good!

I wish I had her courage. I would have ordered the PB& J Monte Cristo, as I recently learned on our trip to Seattle that I really love a good Monte Cristo. Next time!
